López Lifts Maulers to 8-5 Win
The home crowd had a good time watching the Reading Railbirds and Minneapolis Maulers get after it.

Minneapolis first baseman Juan Jose López made his presence felt in the 8-5 Maulers triumph over the Reading Railbirds. López went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Victor Shelton, credited with the save, is now 8 for 12 in save opportunities.

The Railbirds had been locked in a 5-5 tie with the Maulers going into the bottom of the seventh inning. That changed quickly when the 32-year old right fielder Brad Coleman came to the plate. Coleman hit a 2-run triple on a 1-0 curveball from Reading hurler Dax McKames. It was Coleman's 6th triple of the year.

"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Coleman said after the game.

Minneapolis, now 51-52, holds down third place in the Appalachian Northern.
