The Cape Canaveral Launch scooped up a win at Launch Pad, dumping the Havana Comrades, 4-2. Christian James, who is tied for 6th in the AP in quality starts with 12, was essential to his team's success. James yielded 2 runs over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 3, and struck out 7. His record improves to 6-8. The third-place Launch sport a record of 51-50.
The Launch got a big at-bat from shortstop Marshall Richardson. For the game, Richardson went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Cape Canaveral a 3-1 lead.
Cape Canaveral manager Mike Best called it "a darn good win."
