|
The timely hitting of Rod Malone helped the Redstone Ridge Raptors down the Vermont Lake Monsters, 5-3. Malone went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 for the Ridge Raptors. Redstone now sits in third place in the Frontier Southern at 50-55.
William Johns dealt the Lake Monsters a blow in the bottom of the seventh. Batting with runners on 1st and 2nd and Redstone leading 4-3, Johns, who finished 2nd in the FR in slugging percentage with .643 in 2061, hit a 0-2 curveball for a run-scoring single.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Malone.
