The Boston Revolution beat the Richmond Ravens, 6-2, at Jackie Robinson Place. Paul Phipps, in particular, was impressive. He went 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Greg Payne got the win, improving to 10-7. He worked 6 innings, giving up 2 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 3. Picking up the save was José Delgado, his 1st.

Alfredo Becerra, who finished 3rd in the FR in extra base hits with 77 last year, aided the Boston cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the first baseman was 1-3 with a double and a walk.

"Today was a lot of fun," said Becerra.

With the win, the Revolution improved to 60-45.
