Crop Circles Beat Visiting Storm, 3-1
|
Iowa left-hander Ted Duke pitched his team to victory over the West Island Storm at The Cornfield. The final score was 3-1. Iowa now sits in last place in the Frontier Northern at 46-61.
The Crop Circles got a big at-bat from left fielder Clyde Ashe. For the game, Ashe went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 13th home run of the season gave Iowa a 2-1 lead.
"We take it day by day here," said Ashe, "and today was a good one for us."
