Falcons Rally For 4-1 Win
|
The Newark Falcons beat the Redstone Ridge Raptors, 4-1, at The Raptor's Nest. Starting pitcher Leo Porter was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Ted Bigham notched his 16th save in 19 chances. Newark, with the win, climbs to 36-70.
Newark relied on the hitting of Virgil McBride to pick up the win. The left fielder ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the ninth inning to put the Falcons on top, 2-1. For the game, McBride had 1 triple and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Porter said.
