Washington Earns 3-2 Win
|
Washington pitcher Esteban Lozaya did his part in helping his team beat the West Island Storm, 3-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. The winner in relief was Yasushi Inoue. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 2-1. The Storm fall to 3-8 and continue their unimpressive start to the 2074 season.
Washington used the timely hitting of Kyle Ledbrook to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Monuments on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We were in it," said West Island manager Slam Dunks BabySitting a Team. "We just didn't score enough runs."
