Monuments Rough Up Storm, 9-1
|
The Washington Monuments beat the West Island Storm by a score of 9-1. Washington catcher Kyle Ledbrook deserved the lion's share of the credit. Ledbrook slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice for the Monuments. Matt Burkett closed it out for his 1st save. The Monuments, now 9-3, have been sizzling early on.
With Washington leading 2-1 in the bottom of the third, Ledbrook hit a fastball from Ed McClain for a grand slam home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Monuments ahead, 6-1.
"We had a nice day," said Washington skipper Ed Malloy.
