Bearers Fall Short, 2-1, at Boston
|
The Boston Revolution topped the St. Paul Bearers, 2-1, in Frontier action at Jackie Robinson Place. The standout performance belonged to Boston pitcher and Eastpointe, Michigan, native Sid Jackson. Duane Carnell recorded his 1st save for Boston. Boston is now 60-49, St. Paul 52-57.
The Revolution got a big at-bat from first baseman Alfredo Becerra. For the game, Becerra went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 10th home run of the season gave Boston a 2-0 lead.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said St. Paul manager Mitchell Slacko, "let me know."
