Mashers Lose at Home, 5-2, to Mexico City
|
Mexico City rode a fine outing from starter I-tsing Kui to victory over the Crab Apple Cove Mashers at Vargas Field. The final score was 5-2. Kui got the win, improving to 6-6. He allowed 7 hits and walked 1 over 7.2 innings. Kui allowed 2 runs. Mexico City has now won 3 straight, while the Mashers have lost 3 in a row.
Mexico City used a timely hit from Millard Dwyer to get the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Diablos ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"We need to keep playing good baseball," Dwyer told the Mexico City Citizen.
