Mashers Score Late, Top Cheesesteaks, 6-4
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Crab Apple Cove Mashers and Philadelphia Cheesesteaks.
The Crab Apple Cove Mashers dealt the Philadelphia Cheesesteaks a 6-4 loss at Vargas Field. Jeffery Morrow was the star on offense. He went 2-4 with a triple and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. José Martínez finished the game for Crab Apple Cove and earned his 4th save.
Morrow had a game-changing double in the bottom of the eighth. On a 1-1 fastball from Henry Bane, he banged a bases-clearing double to right-center, giving the Mashers a 6-4 lead. It was the 3rd double of the year for Morrow.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Morrow.
The Mashers, now 10-2, have played inspired baseball.
