Railbirds Deal Cuervo 4-3 Loss
|
The Reading Railbirds did just enough to secure a victory over the San Jose Cuervo, 4-3, at Welsh Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Connor Kelloway. Kelloway, now 11-3, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 5, walking 0, and allowing 2 runs. Dax McKames earned save number 9 this season.
Jeremy Watson, the fan favorite , had a direct impact on the outcome. Watson contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Reading up, 3-2.
"I was a little disappointed," said San Jose manager Brandon Kirk. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
The Frontier Northern-leading Railbirds have a record of 65-47.
