Maulers Suffer 6-3 Loss to Richmond
|
The Richmond Ravens picked up a win at Battle Field, dropping the Minneapolis Maulers, 6-3. Stephen Dundee, who led the AP in ERA with 1.46 in 2063, was the difference-maker. The winning pitcher was Dundee, now 3-0. He tossed 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 10. Dewitt Boyle, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 4th save.
The Ravens got a big at-bat from catcher Dan O'Connor. For the game, O'Connor was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Richmond a 5-3 lead.
"We had a good game plan," Dundee said, "and we were able to execute it."
Richmond is now 6-4.
