Iowa beat Laredo at The Cornfield, eking out a 6-5 win. The win was due in large part to left fielder Clyde Ashe. He hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. The winner in relief was Ted Morgan. He is now 3-4. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 4 innings. Iowa now has a 3-game win streak.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 12th. With no one out, Ashe hit a fastball from Andrew Dougherty for a solo home run. The Crop Circles, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"To not win that game stings a little bit," said Laredo manager Dave Galindo.
