The Cape Canaveral Launch got a superb performance from pitcher Ken Barnett. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Vermont. The Lake Monsters won the game, 6-5. Barnett threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. Vermont reliever Eric Bennett was the winner. His record is now 5-2. The losing pitcher was Edward Rascoe. Vermont improves to 69-47 with the win. They lead their division by 4 games.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, an error by the Launch allowed the Lake Monsters to score the winning run.

"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," Baker said.
