Rum Runners Come Back Late to Top Coyotes, 6-3
|
Keg Creek got a big-time effort from pitcher Jesse Parker, but it wasn't enough to keep the Orlando Rum Runners from winning the game, 6-3. Parker threw 8.0 innings allowing 2 runs for the losing team. Nick Sharpley earned the save, his 6th, for the Rum Runners. Early on, the Rum Runners, at 9-3, have excelled.
Orlando used a clutch hit from Don Elliott to get the win. The designated hitter drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Rum Runners ahead, 6-3. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a doozy.
"We're in a marathon, not a sprint," said Elliott. "But I like how we're playing right now."
