Alcatraz Island Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
|
The Alcatraz Island Jail Break picked up a win at The Rock, knocking off the Reading Railbirds, 4-3. Starting pitcher Leonard Johnston played a key role in the triumph. Alcatraz Island reliever Roosevelt Hess got the win, raising his record to 3-5. Cory Rice was tagged with the loss. The first-place Jail Break, at 71-45, now lead their division by 7 games.
Ronnie Reyes was the walk-off hero for Alcatraz Island. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Jail Break designated hitter hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.
"I felt good up there," said Reyes. "I saw the ball well."
