Keg Creek Downs Richmond, 3-2
|
Both teams had their chances, but the Keg Creek Coyotes eventually prevailed.
Ethan Wood pitched well, but the Richmond Ravens still lost the game, falling 3-2 to the Keg Creek Coyotes at Battle Field. Don Edwards, who went 6 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 1 run on 4 hits, while walking 8 and striking out 2. His record now stands at 8-8. Jack Bates recorded the save for Keg Creek, his 32nd of the season.
Keg Creek relied on the hitting of Reginald Hall to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Coyotes on top, 3-0. For the game, Hall had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Keg Creek manager Jay Kunstler. "It's usually not just one thing."
The Coyotes move to 62-54 with the win, while the Ravens drop to 64-53.
