The Laredo Border Jumpers took Greg Canseco's best shot and still were able to collect a win at The Raptor's Nest. The final score had Laredo getting past the Ridge Raptors, 3-2, in 11 innings. Canseco over 6.2 innings allowed 2 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 7. Charles Stanton earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. He upped his record to 3-6. Luke Fletcher recorded the save, making him 1 for 3.
Laredo used the timely hitting of Ray Walters to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Border Jumpers on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Walters said.
Laredo is now 50-70, while Redstone is 65-53.
