In a low-scoring game between the Honolulu High Tide and the Minneapolis Maulers, pitcher Tom Wheeler was masterful on the mound. The Honolulu right-hander spearheaded his team's 3-1 win. The first-place High Tide, at 69-49, lead the Appalachian Southern by 6½ games.

The High Tide got a big at-bat from shortstop Iván Sandoval. For the game, Sandoval was 1 for 3 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 36th double of the season gave Honolulu a 2-0 lead.
