The Death Valley Burn defeated the Iowa Crop Circles, 8-7, in 14 innings in Frontier action at The Cornfield. Death Valley pitcher Alexander Magee had a standout performance. Hamilton Hill, credited with the win in relief, is now 3-5. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. The first-place Burn have won 5 in a row.

Death Valley won the game in part because of Jon Benavidez. The right fielder ripped a solo home run in the top of the 14th inning to put the Burn ahead, 8-7. For the game, Benavidez had 1 double and 1 home run in 7 at-bats.

"Alexander was able to execute his pitches," said Death Valley manager . "Simple as that."
