Border Jumpers Losing Streak at 7 After Extra-Inning Loss to Railbirds
|
The Reading Railbirds in 12 innings downed the Laredo Border Jumpers, 4-3, at Schuylkill Landing Park. Sherman Parks led the way, going 4-for-6 for Reading. Reading reliever Martín Burgos was the winner. His record is now 5-2. Ramiro López took the loss. The Border Jumpers, now 33-85, have lost 7 straight.
The game was decided with no one out in the bottom of the 12th. With Reading trailing 3-2, Parks jumped on a fastball from 26-year old left-handed pitcher Ramiro López and hit a 2-run home run to right. With one swing, the Railbirds had a walk-off win.
"This place was electric at the end," Parks said.
