Amaya Slugs Cheesesteaks to 8-6 Win
A 4-RBI performance from left fielder Perwiro Amaya, who is tied for 4th in the FR in stolen bases with 24, led the Philadelphia Cheesesteaks to a win over the St. Paul Bearers, 8-6. Doug Benson earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 6 hits in 3.1 innings. His record is now 6-10. Picking up his 5th save was 22-year old right-handed pitcher Maurice Reid.

With Philadelphia leading 2-1 in the bottom of the second, Amaya hit a sinker from Chris Jouan for a 3-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Cheesesteaks ahead, 5-1.

"You can't hate how you win if you win," said Philadelphia skipper Joey Santangelo.
