Washington Nets 7-6 Win Versus Storm
|
Washington catcher Tom Quinn played a vital role in his team's 7-6 conquest of West Island . He was 2 for 4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for Washington. The Storm, now 4-8, continue their poor start.
The game was decided with no one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Washington trailing 6-5, Quinn jumped on a fastball from 30-year old right-handed pitcher Vincent Curtis and hit a 2-run home run to right. With one swing, the Monuments had a walk-off win.
"It's great when the crowd gets into it," Quinn said.
