Hot Box hosted a real pitchers' duel.

In a low-scoring tilt between the West Island Storm and the Atlantic City Aces, Jaime De La Cruz, who is tied for 2nd in the AP in complete games with 1, was the difference-maker. The West Island left-hander spearheaded the 2-0 win. Vincent Curtis was credited with the save, his 18th in 22 tries.

West Island second baseman Sergio López contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a sinker to left field for a 2-run single. It was his 64th hit of the season and put the Storm ahead, 2-0.

"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," De La Cruz said.

The win puts West Island at 43-75.
