Troy Smith, who is tied for 3rd in the FR in strikeouts with 181, was locked in. The left-hander led the Mexico City Diablos to a 4-3 win against the Redstone Ridge Raptors at Corona Field. Mexico City reliever Miguel Torres picked up the win, upping his record to 1-4. David Flint absorbed the loss. Redstone has now lost 4 in a row.
The decisive blow was delivered by Dave Carson in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 2-run home run off 35-year old right-handed pitcher David Flint to win the game for Mexico City. The home crowd went nuts.
"We were the better team," crowed Carson.
