In a tight game between the Iowa Crop Circles and the Death Valley Burn, pitcher Fernando Farías was terrific on the mound. The Iowa right-hander helped his team to the 2-0 win. Today's win puts Iowa at 52-67, while Death Valley falls to 67-52.

Iowa took a 2-0 lead on Don Baker's 7th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Baker hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Death Valley pitcher Hamilton Hill visibly frustrated.

"This kind of win will certainly make our fans happy," Farías told the Iowa Daily.
