Revolution Come Back Late, Nip Crop Circles
The Revolution grabbed a win, 4-3, at The Cornfield, overcoming a fine effort from Iowa pitcher Andy Lindsay. Lindsay went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. Steve Pierson got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. Greg Young converted his 14th save in 19 tries.

Boston used the timely hitting of Stanley Bates to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Revolution on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

After the game, Boston manager applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.

Boston is now 59-61, while Iowa is 44-76.
