Despite a great performance by Reading third baseman Fernando Batista, the Death Valley Burn defeated the Railbirds by the score of 6-5 at The Burn Yard. Batista was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 2 times. The Railbirds fall to 6-8 and continue their lackluster start to the 2069 season.

Kevin Harle aided the Death Valley cause with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the bottom of the third. For the game, the catcher drove in one run.

"If we keep winning the close games," Harle said, "we'll be in good shape at the end."
