Ridge Raptors Come Back Late to Top Bearers, 5-4
|
Led by Rod Malone, the Redstone Ridge Raptors downed the St. Paul Bearers, 5-4. Malone was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Ridge Raptors. Redstone, now 8-4, has gotten their season off to a good start.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With two out, Malone hit a fastball from Bob McKinney for a solo home run. The Ridge Raptors, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"Rod leaves the last at-bat behind him, whether it was good or bad, and goes up there and competes on every pitch," said Redstone manager Barry L.
