Starting pitcher Jesse Parker pitched well enough to help the Keg Creek Coyotes beat the Richmond Ravens, 6-3. Parker, now 8-8, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 3 runs. The first-place Coyotes, at 71-49, now lead their division by 6½ games.

Keg Creek used a timely hit from José Velásquez to get the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Coyotes ahead, 5-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"It was our day today," Velásquez told the Keg Creek Herald. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."
