Railbirds Prevail, 6-4, Over Laredo
|
The Reading Railbirds picked up a win at Schuylkill Landing Park, knocking off the Laredo Border Jumpers, 6-4. On the mound for Reading was right-hander Carlos Caro. He played a key role in the triumph. Caro picked up the win for Reading, going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 7-9. The win puts Reading at 70-50 this season.
Eugene Bonner had a big 2-run double for the Railbirds in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Reading leading 3-2 and the bases loaded, he got a changeup from Charles Stanton, the 20th overall pick in the 2071 draft, and swatted a double to center. It was his 15th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Railbirds ahead, 5-2.
"Carlos pitched like a champ," said Reading manager Slam Dunks.
