Diablos Score Late to Upend Railbirds, 4-2
|
The Mexico City Diablos and Reading Railbirds played an exciting game.
The Mexico City Diablos had to overcome a fine effort from Reading pitcher Dax McKames to win, 4-2, at Corona Field. McKames went 6 innings and allowed no runs. Pedro Gómez, now 1-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings.
Mexico City took a 4-2 lead on Francisco Olivares's 2nd home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which Olivares hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Reading pitcher Vincent Curtis visibly frustrated.
Reading manager Slam Dunks said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
The Railbirds fall to 5-7 and continue their sputtering start to the 2077 season.
