The home crowd had a good time watching the Iowa Crop Circles and Crab Apple Cove Mashers get after it.

The Crab Apple Cove Mashers beat the Iowa Crop Circles, 5-0, at Vargas Field. Starting pitcher Rob Heath was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Heath, now 7-11, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 3, walking 2, and allowing no runs.

The outcome was still in doubt with two out in the top of the fifth inning, but Heath was able to pitch out of a jam. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and Iowa trailing 2-0, Heath retired Dan French, who grounded out.

The 'W' lifts Crab Apple Cove's record to 51-70.
