Reading used a superb performance from starting pitcher Dax McKames to down the Redstone Ridge Raptors, 2-1. The winner was McKames. He threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball. The loser was Greg Canseco. Ed Leibnitz, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 13th save.

Reading took control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Juan Hernández hit a run-scoring single to make it 2-1, Railbirds.
