Mario Amézaga made an impact in the 3-1 Glacier Bay win over Boston. Amézaga, who finished 4th in the AP in wins above replacement with 6.0 in 2064, went 2-3 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The win lifted the Glacier Bay record to 64-56.

Amézaga had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a full count curveball from Ron King, he banged a 2-run home run to center, giving the Ice Pirates a 3-1 lead. It was the 17th home run of the year for Amézaga.
