Ridge Raptors Prevail, 2-1, Over Glacier Bay
|
Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Redstone Ridge Raptors and the Glacier Bay Ice Pirates. Redstone won it, 2-1. Redstone starter Elvin Lawson was in command. In 6 innings, Lawson surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 10 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. Redstone is now riding a 4-game win streak.
Redstone used a well-timed hit by Kip Collins to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Ridge Raptors ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"Tough loss," said Glacier Bay manager Matt Lehrer. "But we'll learn from it."
