The Cape Canaveral Launch and Minneapolis Maulers lit up the scoreboard.

The Cape Canaveral Launch had to overcome a big game from Minneapolis third baseman Harvey McKinney to leave MacLaren Stadium with a victory. And they did, winning 12-8. McKinney was 3 for 4 with 2 triples and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. The third-place Launch have won 5 consecutive games.

Cape Canaveral used a well-timed hit by Jim Peterson to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Launch ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
