Michigan pitcher Juan Solís did his part in helping his team defeat the West Island Storm, 10-0. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. The winner was Solís. He threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Paul Garza. The loss makes West Island 28-92.

The Militia got a big boost from center fielder Mark Olvera who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the first inning off Storm hurler Paul Garza. It was his 13th walk of the season and put Michigan on top, 1-0.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Olvera told the Michigan Herald.
