Victory Takes Comrades to 64-58
|
The Havana Comrades picked up a win at The Ballpark at Habanos Stadium, knocking off the Philadelphia Cheesesteaks, 7-2. Starting pitcher Roberto García was a big reason why. The Cheesesteaks, at 69-55, have lost 4 straight games.
Randy Haney had a big 3-run home run for the Comrades in the bottom of the third inning. With Havana leading 2-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from former first round draft pick Doug Benson and swatted a home run to center. It was his 10th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Comrades ahead, 5-0.
"Solid performance from our side," said Comrades manager .
