High Tide Stick Aces with 3-1 Loss
|
The Honolulu High Tide got a good effort from starter Martín Burgos in defeating the Atlantic City Aces at Champagne of Beers Field. The final score was 3-1. Burgos went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 3. His record improves to 8-9. Glenn Chandler recorded the save, his 11th.
The High Tide got a big at-bat from second baseman Peter Wilkinson. For the game, Wilkinson went 1-1 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 20th home run of the season gave Honolulu a 2-0 lead.
"It was a solid team effort," said Burgos after the game.
Honolulu is now 51-73, while Atlantic City is 40-83.
