Amarillo beat Keg Creek at Coyote Den Stadium, eking out a 6-5 win. The triumph was primarily due to right fielder Bill Foley. He was 3-4 with 3 singles, while scoring 3 runs. Otis Quick, the winning pitcher, improved to 5-12. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 6 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 0. Ryan Wheeler collected save number 18.
Stewart Jones was 1 for 3, while adding 2 RBI for Amarillo. The 25-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Gerald Casey. It was his 43rd RBI of the season.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Amarillo manager James Walker.
Amarillo is now 56-69, Keg Creek 48-75.
