Cheesesteaks Win Thriller, 3-2
|
The Philadelphia Cheesesteaks picked up a win at William Penn Park, taking down the Reading Railbirds, 3-2, in 15 innings. On the mound for Philadelphia was right-hander Ken Barnett. He played a central role in the triumph. The victory gives the Cheesesteaks a record of 70-56.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 15th inning, when Philadelphia second baseman Carl Anderson, facing Fernando Franco, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Cheesesteaks the 3-2 win.
"This ballpark was lit," Anderson said.
