Maulers Come Back Late to Top Lake Monsters, 4-2
|
Vermont wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Hoyt Murphy, falling to the Minneapolis Maulers, 4-2. Murphy threw 7.0 innings of 2-hit ball for the losing team. The win was credited to Greg Douglas in relief. His record improves to 4-6. Steven Young took the loss. The Maulers sport a record of 32-93.
Man Lam drew 3 walk for Minneapolis. The 34-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring walk off Hoyt Murphy. It was his 41st walk of the season.
Lam attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
