The Minneapolis Maulers got a rain-soaked win over the Newark Falcons.

Minneapolis pitcher George McCreehy did his part in helping his team beat the Newark Falcons, 6-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. McCreehy got the win, improving to 10-5. He gave up 5 hits and walked 1 over 7 innings. He allowed 1 run.

Raymond Weaver drove in one run for Minneapolis. The 27-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch off Francisco Chapa. It was his 31st RBI of the season.

"George went out and did what we needed," said Minneapolis manager .

The Maulers now have a record of 54-71.
