High Tide Come Up Short at Newark, 6-5
|
Pedro López was a major contributor to the 6-5 Newark win over Honolulu. The Falcons third baseman was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Diego Noriega picked up the win in relief. Jeremy Leach took the loss for Honolulu. Rob Heath earned the save for Newark, his 3rd.
Newark took control in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Jerry Carter hit a run-scoring single to make it 6-5, Falcons.
"Pedro was ready to go. Big day for him," said Newark manager Brandon T.
Honolulu, at 3-9, is off to a poor start in 2073.
