Monuments Stymie Keg Creek, Take 4-1 Win
|
The Washington Monuments picked up a win at The Grand Lodge, taking down the Keg Creek Coyotes, 4-1. Starting pitcher George Skinner was a big reason why. The winning pitcher was Skinner, now 13-7. He tossed 6 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 9. Washington has 3 straight wins, Keg Creek 5 straight losses.
The Monuments got a big at-bat from designated hitter Milo Baker. For the game, Baker was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 25th double of the season gave Washington a 2-1 lead.
"Been a rough stretch for us," said Keg Creek manager Jay Kunstler.
