Iowa Crop Circles starter Fernando Farías led his team to victory over the Glacier Bay Ice Pirates, 6-2. The right-hander was locked-in. Roberto Mendoza was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 26 of 30 save opportunities. The Crop Circles go to 48-78 with the win.
The Crop Circles got a big at-bat from catcher Jon Ashe. For the game, Ashe was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 10th home run of the season gave Iowa a 2-0 lead.
"Fernando -- I just love the competitor in him," said Crop Circles manager Andy Ward.
