Chicken Haulers Pull Out Late Win, 5-4
|
Starting pitcher Glenn Patterson pitched well enough to help the Amarillo Chicken Haulers beat the Michigan Militia, 5-4. Ryan Wheeler earned the save for Amarillo, his 2nd of the year. The Chicken Haulers have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 4th win in 13 games.
Amarillo used the hitting of Alberto Cruz to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Chicken Haulers on top, 5-4. For the game, Cruz had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"Glenn was doing a good job pouring in strikes," said Amarillo manager James Walker.
