Jeremy Owens could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Orlando Rum Runners lost, dropping a 1-0 decision to the Cape Canaveral Launch at Launch Pad. Cape Canaveral reliever José Sosa picked up the win, upping his record to 5-4. Jeremy Owens absorbed the loss. Cape Canaveral is now 91-35, 11½ games up in the Appalachian Coastal.
Jesús Reynad, who is tied for 3rd in the AP in home runs with 33, chipped in for Cape Canaveral with a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 RBI.
"It's always nice to be on the winning side," Reynad told the Cape Canaveral Citizen. "But we take nothing for granted."
