The Havana Comrades defeated the Crab Apple Cove Mashers, 4-3, at Vargas Field today. Leading the charge for Havana was center fielder José Hernández. He was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The Comrades now have a mark of 51-78.
Hernández contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Havana in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 3-1, Hernández took a fastball from Matt Butler and stroked the home run to right. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Comrades to leap in front, 4-3.
"We found a way to get it done," Hernández said.
