Launch Bump Off High Tide, 6-2
|
The Cape Canaveral Launch topped the Honolulu High Tide, 6-2, in Appalachian action at Launch Pad. The standout performance belonged to Cape Canaveral pitcher and Millburn, New Jersey, native Jon Gilmore. The winner was Cape Canaveral reliever Duane Carnell, now 1-1. The loser was Roosevelt Hess. Honolulu now owns a losing streak of 5 games.
Tristan Carroll was 2 for 4 with a home run and a triple. He drove in 3 runs and scored once against the High Tide. In the bottom of the first inning, he reached on an error by the 3B, driving in 1 run, putting Cape Canaveral in front, 1-0.
"It was a solid team effort," Carroll said. "That's usually what it takes to win."
