Border Jumpers Prevail, 6-4, Over Redstone
The Laredo Border Jumpers beat the Redstone Ridge Raptors, 6-4, at BackWet Stadium. Laredo left fielder Harvey Turner had an outstanding performance. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 times. José Rojas, the winner, improved to 12-8. He held Redstone to 4 runs on 6 hits over 7 innings, while racking up 9 strikeouts. Andrew Dougherty earned his 36th save in 38 tries.

The Border Jumpers got an important contribution from center fielder Pablo Romero, who in the bottom of the fourth punched a 2-2 sinker into right for a 2-run triple. It was his 4th triple of the season and put the Border Jumpers ahead, 4-0.

"It was our day today," Romero told the Laredo Observer. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."
